Tradicionalmente, la enseñanza de las matemáticas se suele presentar alejada de la vida cotidiana y como una disciplina tediosa y aburrida no vinculada a actividades tales como las bellas artes, la literatura, el cine o la televisión.
Es por ello que consideramos oportuno tratar de analizar, desde este punto de vista,
las relaciones existentes entre las matemáticas y dichas disciplinas, de manera que se promueva el carácter divulgativo de esta ciencia también a nivel universitario. Asimismo, nuestro objetivo es conseguir que el alumnado sepa extraer de forma divertida la esencia matemática de las diferentes actividades programadas a tal efecto: el visionado de una película, el estudio visual de un cuadro, las proporciones de una escultura o la propia lectura de textos literarios, y todo ello a través de un análisis
matemático. Finalmente, estudiaremos mediante distintas encuestas realizadas al alumnado, el grado de satisfacción y el cumplimiento de las expectativas iniciales.
The vision of science in general and mathematics in particular, can sometimes be distressful and unpleasant and its knowledge is certainly biased. Traditionally, teaching of mathematics is usually presented not in the content of everyday life and as a tedious and boring discipline not linked to activities such as fine arts, literature, cinema or television. However, it is an increasingly common thought that science is important and that everyone should have some basic knowledge of it.
The dissemination of science as well as its teaching corresponds to Scientifics. Nevertheless, while teaching pursues the goal of learning, the dissemination of science strives to present the scientific view of the world to the general public and both motivate and illustrate the learning in our sessions.
We co-exist with science not only in the classroom, but day by day. Therefore it is timely that we need to address topics for which teachers usually do not have time to present in their regulated subjects. Consequently, students complete their studies with minimal knowledge about it.
As Galileo stated, society develops well in mathematical terms. In that equation we find also the different forms of expression that make human beings develop unique capabilities and characteristics in relation to art, cinema, television, architecture and many other forms.
Our goal is to instill in students that learning in a fun way can be used to extract the essence of the different mathematical activities planned for this purpose: i.e. the viewing of a film, the visual study of a painting, proportions of a sculpture, the influence of mathematics in architecture or the reading of literary texts themselves. This can all be achieved through mathematical analysis with the use of new technologies in the classroom.
